All Veterans need the VA Claims Guide Booklet 1 if:

• You are a veteran who has been injured in the line of duty, you may be entitled to benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA); or
• You are leaving the service through separation or retirement and you need to submit a claim that will be processed as fast as possible with the least amount of delay; or
• You are a Reservist or a National Guard member, and you are concerned about your status for VA benefits.

Click on the following link to open the VA web site: www.va.gov or copy and paste it into your browser address box.

By clicking on the above link you will open the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) home page. As you scan to the far right you will find an entry titled:"Quick List", under which you will locate "VA Forms." By selecting VA Forms you will find a blank entry for "Form Number" enter 21 526, and enter search. This will bring up the forms for you to select. The best form to use is the first: 21 526a (PDF). Please be patient. We are dealing with a Government website and this may take a few seconds to load. Once the form is loaded you can actually complete form right on your computer, highly recommended, and save it to your own documents for future reference.
